I hope you caught my attempt at referencing William Carlos Williams The Red Wheelbarrow in the title. ANYWAYS…back to the point.
Since graduating I have been applying and interviewing to various positions in multiple companies. Much to my dismay I have been playing the waiting game like many of my friends and other college graduates around the nation. Before graduating I heard it a lot from older peers, but have experienced it time and time again while going through the interview process. It is a trend many companies have adapted to, …

We Are The World 25 For Haiti Official Video

We Are The World 25 Anniversary
Recorded on February 1st, 2010 in the same studio as the original version, the 25th Anniversary recording of ‘We Are The World’ features over 80 artists and performers.

I saw the music video on television before the 2010 Winter Olympics opening ceremony in Vancouver kicked off the other night on February 12, 2010. The recording is absolutely amazing and the video is inspirational. It’s great that so many artists were able to get together and make such a beautiful song to share with the world. Especially …

Epidemics Caused by Disasters

Photo Edited and Produced by Joshua A. Bickel

Let me start off by saying that my hopes and prayers are with those people who are currently suffering in Haiti after the earthquakes and aftershocks. It’s great that many countries and people around the world are doing things to support Haiti in their time of need. Donating food, water, shoes, and the things necessary for survival that we all take for granted everyday.
There’s one thing that bothers me, though. Why is it that something of such magnitude has/needs to occur for …

The Leonid Meteor Shower in 2009

Leonid Meteor Shower
According to many analysts the 2009 Leonid Meteor Shower’s prime viewing time in the United States was around 1:00 p.m. PST early this morning.
This year I decided to go out late night into the wee hours of the morning to try to get a glimpse of some shooting stars from the Leonid Meteor Shower. Luckily it was a clear day in San Luis Obispo as well as in Avila Beach where I did my star gazing with a good friend of mine. It was very cold and …

ABC’s FlashForward Letter Al Wrote to Celia

One of my new favorite television dramas is ABC’s FlashForward. I watched the first episode and have been hooked since. In this week’s episode Al Gough, played by Lee Thompson Young, commits suicide. By committing suicide he wouldn’t affect the life of Celia and her two children–the future couldn’t happen as seen in his FlashForward. We finally got to see his FlashForward, which was him talking on the phone with an attorney. He says that he killed her [Celia] and knows that she has two kids, twins he believes.
Before …

Five for Fighting – Chances (Lyrics)

As I was driving in my car today from the grocery store I heard this song. I haven’t listened to Five for Fighting in a while and love their new hit single “Chances” on the album Slice. One thing that seizes to amaze me is that Five for Fighting always releases great songs though they aren’t as popular as they should be, in my opinion. Enough talking…listen and enjoy!

Charter Comunications: Your Service SUCKS

There’s one thing I can’t stand and that’s shitty service. How is Charter Communications still accredited by and in good standing with the Better Business Bureau (BBB)? How have they not faced any sort of class action litigation? I’ve been with Charter for three years (my fault for not switching, though there aren’t many alternatives in the San Luis Obispo area I use DirectTV for television but Charter for internet) and have had multiple discrepancies with their service and my monthly bills over the years.
Where to begin? Their customer service, …

Photos Taken in Kauai, Hawaii

My grandparents took my brother, sister, and I to Kauai, Hawaii this summer. We spent a week on the island and were fortunate enough to do many activities ranging from zip lining, attending a luau, driving through Waimea Canyon, going to spouting horn, seeing Kilauea Lighthouse, and much more. Here are photos of my attempted photography with my old Sony Cybershot DSC-T5 5.1 mega pixel digital camera. My first attempt at photography–amateur shots nonetheless.

Life is Too Short to Wake Up With Regrets

Photo Source: Credit to Flickr user rachaelmc
Life is too short to wake up with regrets.
Love the people who treat you right.
Forget about the ones who don’t.
Believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands..
If it changes your life, let it.
Nobody said life would be easy.
They just promised it would be worth it.
A lot of you have probably heard, seen, or have read this quote before. I believe that it does a great job summing up what life should be about. Make your life …
